PAPER DOLLS

OMGosh!  Doesn't this bring back memories?  Every little girl has played with Paper Dolls!  Maybe that is why Paper Doll is my favorite stamp set in the new Close To My Heart Idea Book!  I love how each outfit in this stamp set includes an accessory that represents something all women love.... summertime, purses and sweets.  Another spin on that is.... spending a nice relaxing summer day sipping on a cool glass of lemonade (or iced tea) with your BFF, shopping with your BFF, and sharing cupcakes...chocolate....or a meal with your BFF!  Well, that was my inspirational thoughts when I saw this stamp set! 





  The title "You are a doll" was stamped with the Keepsake Alphabet stamp set.

 










Coloring the little girl in her undergarments (pictured above) takes me back to the days of spend the night parties and sleep overs with my BFF's!



I think I might be the Queen of Pockets (LOL) because I always make pockets on every layout.  Now, don't laugh too hard because there is a reason for this pocket madness.  I always add pockets as an option for adding more photos and/or hidden journaling.  I don't have to use them, but they are always there if I need them. 

 

Have you ever made layouts of a special occasion and had just one photo left over with nowhere to put it?  Well, I have...and a pocket saved the day!

 

So, as always all of the photo mats on both of these pages/layouts also serve as pockets to add more photos, journaling tags, etc. There are 6 pockets total on the page pictured above.  One large pocket was made on the bottom half of the page with three smaller pockets formed by using three mats on top of the large pocket.



The clothes line is made using the Baker's Twine Paradise Assortment.   Paradise is my favorite of the Baker's Twine Assortments because the colors just shout "summer" to me!



 

All of the stamped images were colored using colored pencils.

You can't tell it in this photo, but the icing on the cupcakes are shimmering.  I colored them with colored pencil, then colored over them using a Clear Copic Spica Glitter Pen.

ROSEY REGARDS

 

I am so excited to share this new layout I made last week.  I was inspired by a layout in the CTMH Idea book on page 140.  The photo mats on my layout (pictured above) are only there to show you where the photos will go.  I designed my layout to add two 4"x6" photos, instead of one large photo.

Pictured above is a close-up of the stamping I did for this layout.  The doily/madallion was stamped with the PIROUETTE stamp set using a Creme Brulee stamp pad.  The roses were stamped with the ROSEY REGARDS stamp set using Blush, Baby Pink, Tulip, Sweet Leaf and Garden Green stamp pads.

I glued a piece of Paradise Asst. Baker's Twine to the page, then glued the pennants that I cut from paper along the Baker's Twine to form the banner. Next, I tied bows with the Baker's Twine and glued them to each end of the banner.

I created the ruffle (pictured above) using hot pink crepe paper streamers.  I cut off a length of the streamer.  Next, I cut the length of crepe streamer in half going lengthwise down the middle of crepe streamer.  Then, I gathered the length of streamer and glued it to the layout.

TOP STITCH SCRAPBOOK LAYOUTS

I am excited to share the 4 pages I designed and assembled for everyone to make at my January Workshop.  Everything to make all 4 pages is included in this kit. The kit includes 4 (12" x 12") cardstock base pages, all the pre-cut pieces to assemble the layouts, chocolate brads, buttons, heart ribbon, Colonial White Waxy Flax, stamped images, and a complete package of Soft Suede Pinwheels. You can only get this kit from me. I only have 1 kit for this workshop left for sale.  The cost of this kit is $20.

I added Chocolate Brads to the center of the Soft Suede Pinwheels.

I made 2 pockets behind the photo mat on this layout for additional photos and journaling.  There is one pocket behind the Baby Pink mat and another pocket behind the Heavenly Blue mat. I cut the circle with my Pazzles Inspiration.

 

 

I stamped the flowers onto white cardstock, cut them out with scissors, and then added Pink Glitz Glitter Gel to the smallest flower and Turquoise and Cotton Candy Stickles to the other two flowers. The flowers were stamped using: D1491 Hooray Bouquet 12 piece stamp set by CTMH and CTMH Exclusive Inks Stamp Pads in Hollyhock, Heavenly Blue and Baby Pink.

 

I used D1013 Playful Caps stamp set and a "Smoothie" CTMH Exclusive Inks Mini Pigment Pad to stamp the word Love.

 

This pinwheel flower shown above was made using C1385 "Charmed" stamp set and CTMH Exclusive Inks stamp pads in Chocolate, Baby Pink, Heavenly Blue, and Vineyard Berry. 

The stitched heart design on the pinwheel shown above was stamped using D1402 "Togetherness" stamp set using a Chocolate CTMH Exclusive Inks stamp pad.
