CELEBRATING THE RED WHITE & BLUE

This is the first time I have used a Magnolia stamp. Her name is Sparkling Tilda. I added glitter to the halo and wings, You can't see how much the wings sparkle in these photos, but they really do sparkle!!!!

I added the two blue stars that I made with a punch. I like it better without the blue stars, you decide for yourself. Challenges: Magnolia Lovers Bildmalarna Blog weeMemories

CREATING FASHIONISTA DECOR

This was my newest decorating project and I am thrilled with how it turned out. I have been working on updating the guest bath. The jumping off point for color choices was the sink....a pale green colored marble sink. The walls were old 80's wall paper board (in mauve and country blue) like you see in modular homes, which I painted white. The vanity and mirror frames were pine with a light stain, which I sanded and stained a dark cherry. The light fixture was a cheap ($6-7) dressing room type fixture with three bulbs. I replaced it with an updated nickel finished fixture, added a green shower curtain and towels, and a leaf print rug in front of the tub. It is all coming togther. I was in desperate need of some art work, but could not find what I wanted. So, I decided to make my own.....Hope you like it as much as I do!!!! I especially like the red pop of color. They are now hanging over the towel bar, next to the tub. I made them by cutting scrapbook paper to the desired size, then a wonderful man in our church cut the wood for me. I glued the scrapbook paper to the wood squares and let it dry overnight. Then, I painted the edges and sides. After the paint dried, I sealed it with a matte finished clear coat.
