Hive Creative Challenge - 4th of JULY SCRAPBOOK LAYOUTS

I created these layouts for my monthly scrapbooking workshop and TheHive Creative Challenge using the Fanfare Level 1 kit. They are the two pages that everyone who attends one of my Workshops in July will be making the night of the workshop. Everything is supplied, except you will need to bring your favorite adhesive and scissors.

I created the background of the top half of this layout by randomly stamping on a piece of white cardstock. The stamp sets used to create the background, click on their links to see all the stamps in the sets: CONNECTIONS (D1330) and SUMMER DAYS (B1375)

A tutorial on how I make the red bunting (pictured above) are included close to the end of this post.

I love how the pinwheels turned out. I will do a tutorial on how I made these later. I used the following stamp sets to make the pinwheels, click on their links to see all the stamps in the sets: Hit The Spot (C1406) and Brilliant Backgrounds (D1251) this set is retired.

Following are the 4 premade/printed pages and 2 12"x6" sheets of cardstock stickers included in this workshop.....

TUTORIAL for making the BUNTING.....

Supplies: 2" Scallop Circle Punch, Embossing Tool, 12" Paper Trimmer, cardstock, Sanding Block, scissors

I punched 3 scallop circles using our 2" Scallop Circle Punch. I own a lot of punches and I must say this is the easiest punch to use. You press the lever down with ease and it punches like butter!!! No kidding it is really that easy!

Next, I used my 12" Trimmer to emboss the lines on the scallop circles. Line up the top and bottom between the scallops through the center of the scalloped circle with the groove in the 12" trimmer. Emboss the line in the groove using the Embossing Stylus tool. You will have to hold the scallop circle securely with one had to keep it from moving while you are embossing the lines. Continue around the circle until lines have been embossed between all of the scallops.

Turn the embossed scalloped circle to the side where the lines are raised on the cardstock. Then, sand the embossed (raised) lines. I used my sanding block from the CTMH Sanding Kit. The above photo shows the lines partially sanded, so that you can see what the lines looked like before and after sanding.

Last of all, cut the scallop circle in half. Now you are ready to attach them to your layout!

This is the extra two page layout that everyone made at my Level 1 Workshops for June. We used the Blue Ribbon Level 1 Kit, Summer Sweetness stamp set, With Love stamp set (for fireworks), Star Struck stamp set, Solos "4" stamp set, Summer Picnic stamp set. The Masking Technique was used to make the cloth in the picnic basket. Prisma Glitter was used on the fireworks.

Following are the premade layouts and stickers that everyone got in addition to the extra 2 page layout that we made the night of the workshop. They got everything pictured for just $16.00. I provided all of the stamp sets, inks, extra cardstock, ribbon, prisma glitter, etc. They only had to bring their scissors and favorite adhesive. How awesome is that?!!!

ESTHER COBB'S PAGES FROM THE WORKSHOP...... all she did was add the stickers that came with the workshop and journaling! These are her first scrapbook pages and she did an awesome job on them!!!!!

Emporium Layout

This is the two page layout we made at my Scrapbooking Worksop in February. I used the Emporium Level 1 Kit X7105A for the workshop. Everyone took home 6 layouts total....4 premade that came in the kit and these two additional layouts that they made at the workshop. For the title, I used the Stitch Alphabet stamp set E1008 and Embroidery Floss Z1095. Everyone got to choose the word of their choice to stamp for their title, then hand stitched it with the yellow floss. The flowers are stamped using the Delight in Everything stamp set D1204 with the following inks: Creme Brulee Z2167, Vineyard Berry Z2157, Crystal Blue 1292. An Antiqued Copper brad Z1040 was added to the center of each flower.

CAPRICE LAYOUTS

I LOVE the way these layouts turned out!!! It was so fun and easy to make them. I used the Caprice Level 2 Paper Pack X7086B, Chocolate Stamp Pad Z2111 to ink the edges of the blue photo mats. The tag is a sticker from the Caprice Mystickease pack X7086C. I put the sticker on a piece of chocolate cardstock and cut it out, leaving a boarder of the chocolate card around the sticker. Then, I attached a piece of ribbon to the tag using a chocolate brad.

The Prima paper flowers shown above on the chocolate cardstock ribbon are attached using CTMH Brads.

These flowers are made using 2 sizes of the Dazzling Die Cut flowers and a Goldrush corduroy button from the Autumn Garden Collection Z1119 of embellishments from the Mini-Medley Accents Collections. I LOVE LOVE LOVE all of the embellishments in these collection!!!! They are awesome! I curled up the edges of the center petals of the flower to give it more demention.
